What was he looking for again?[break][break]

Oh, yes, that’s right—there were sightings abound of new Pokémon and he wanted to see if he would be able to run into one. While he only had a Cramorant and a Wooloo so far (and everything else was proving to be rather elusive) he decided to try his luck again.[break][break]

Knowing that it was nigh-impossible to find a Rookidee under normal circumstances at the place he frequented he decided to switch areas and search elsewhere.[break][break]

Who knew what Alexei is going to find out here this time? Would it be one of the newer Pokémon? Or something just as elusive, but useful to him all the same?[break][break]

Thankfully, there weren’t piles of ashes to sort through, so he was spared the terror of mucky snow and ash clinging to his boots and his clothes in general.

The first thing he comes across and it’s a scary panda.[break][break]

Hell, even the visage of the creature was more than enough to spook him. He made sure not to make eye contact as the Pangoro loomed some distance away, looking for something to butt heads with.[break][break]

Nope, I do not want to get in the path of that sucker! He thought as he shook his head and inched along, away from the Pangoro. He did not want to fight an angry bear that looked ready to kill with just a single uppercut. This was hilarious, considering he had the type advantage with five out of six of his companions being strong against that particular Pokémon.[break][break]

Not today, at least.[break][break]

He wondered if he was going to find what he was looking for as he continued along, going deeper into the grass. At least the snow wasn’t sticking as bad now. Looking up at the sky, he wondered why there was a light snowfall.[break][break]

Whoops.

The next encounter was something else entirely.[break][break]

Alexei wasn’t expecting to see a quick flash of green shoot by him—but from the way his PokéGear had gone off, it was something he was looking for—and he’d better catch it fast otherwise he wouldn’t have the same chance again![break][break]

His line of sight followed it, and in order to make this quick, he quickly called out his Salamence, who let out another almighty roar upon emerging from the flash of red light.[break][break]

“Gabe, follow that shadow! Corner it! We’re catching that one,” he breathed out, and before the Salamence could give him a confused look, Alexei pointed again. “Go!”[break][break]

The Breloom was on the move, quickly turning around as it broke its stride and began spitting out a series of hard-shelled seeds in an attempt to deter the Salamence—the Seed Bomb was incinerated right in the blaze of the Salamence’s Flamethrower attack.[break][break]

Another blast of super-heated flames came shooting out of the draconid’s mouth, as the Breloom attempted to use a Stun Spore attack—was it a good idea to send spores at flames?[break][break]

The resulting explosion clearly was the answer. Another blast of superheated flames circled around the Breloom, who was now trapped in a ring of fire. Letting out a cry of distress, it attempted to escape by using Mach Punch—however it had ended up getting incinerated once again by the scorching flames.[break][break]

This gave Alexei enough time to chase the two down and whip out a vacant PokéBall, aiming it at the Breloom just as it had released another Seed Bomb attack at the Salamence—only for the seeds to get roasted by the flames. The red beam of light shot out for the panicked dual-type, absorbing it into its beam before it clattered to the ground...
